On Friday night of last week a bunch of us headed to Petersham to watch a preview of improaustralia's scared scriptless theatresports finals. (What a mouthful). It was hilarious. For those who didn't make it and are wondering what I'm talking about, Theatresports is a type of improvisation theatre where teams compete by playing improv games in front of an audience. Usually the audience gets involved by shouting out types of places, physical features, job descriptions and inanimate objects that will be incorporated into these games. The actors make up scenes, songs, poems etc on the spot using this information and hilarity often ensues. Clear as mud? good.
There were some complete unknowns in the cast as well as those infuriating people who everyone knows but no one knows where from!! One such person was the guy below...
His name is Geoff Paine.
