Sailing Update
I spoke to the people today and got a bit of advice and found out what is needed to book. If we book for mid Feb we can have our choice at the moment, we can get the 10 nights for the price of 7 and a 5% discount because I have sailed with them before (as long as it is not school holidays). I had bit of a natter about the different boats and the Conquest 40 (http://www.whitsundayescape.com/sailingCats/conquest40.htm) def sounds like the best option. It sleeps upto 12 comfortably and is a good sailor with some extra comforts. Spa, Big BBQ, large fridge, rubber dingie with motor, good engine size, shallow draft, perfect boat. That would be $6150 for the 10 nights. So paying safe 10 people $615 each - $61 a night to sit in 5 star accom, in the prettiest place with me, the prettiest person. BARGAIN
For a rough idea of the full costs
per person (Group)
$615 - boat (6150)
$250 - flights (2500)
$175 - food (1750)
$150 - booze (1500)
$25 - worst case fuel for the boat (max 250)
$25 - Taxi to and from airport ($100 per ride)
$1240 for 11 days 10 nights. There should be no other costs.
Addition things:
*The boat comes with snorkling gear, you can rent scuba if you want.
*Staying at the islands (eg Hamilton) overnight is $80 for the boat ($8 each) but that gives you use of the island and facilities (pools, bars etc)
*Fuck, come on, this is going to be the best holiday ever!
To Plan:
1) Dates
2) No. Days
3) Boat
4) Shopping list/Menu
5) Any particular islands /stops you want to make.
SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in, and incapable of making decisions. Someone please decide what I'd like and send me an invoice.
It does look like an awesome holiday!
Good to see you're on the case, John!
To further the sales pitch...
$1240 for 11 days 10 nights..
You would have to buy food anyway -$200
You would have to be catching public transport/driving to work -$100
There is two weekends in there so you would probably have gone aout say 3-4 times anyway -$250
You won't have your lights on at home -$25
You won't be using you mobiles -$25
That already down to $640...
And you you won't get in that car accident -$5000
So you'd actually be saving money coming. In fact the longer we go away for the more money you'll make.
I would like to concur with John's last additional thing. Jealousy getting worse by the day over here.
Then hell, lets make it 3 weeks!
And Margs has just found $77 airfares.. So baring the car accident, that's now a realative cost of $510 for 10 nights!
Jen: you NEED to come back and visit sometime... and this looks like the best time to do it! I'm counting you in until I hear otherwise.
And way in france....
It will be winter so power bills will be higher ~$200
Travel costs more there ~$100
Food is pricier there ~$100
you won't have to pay the air fare as you can fly direct ~$250
No bagettes here ~$150
Don't have to buy that extra winter jumper ~200
the euro to dolar conversion ~$300
you will have to go on holidays anyway ~$500
Don't have to wash any blue and white stripped shirts ~$150
That's $1850 in savings flights are , what, $2000 that's just $150 for a flight to Australia and then $510 for the holiday. BARIGN!
Can I decide what Mattess likes and send the invoice - please, please.
I like Baguettes...
