V-I-C-T-O-R-Y at last!

The Mighty SRF have finally done it! A win in the Futsal Competition! Unbelievable!

We scored 2 early goals which made everyone jump around with madness over the fact that we were actually leading the points in a game!!! Unfortunately the opposition, The Devils, equalised in the first half and then were we in for it!

We defended like our little lives depended on it. We ran, we blocked, we passed, we jumped, we kicked, we yelled, we screamed and boy did we sweat! Our efforts were rewarded by another 2 goals which the Devils couldn't match. They went down 4-2 to us. US! that really does put a smile on my face!

Anyway, while we were jumping around celebrating our win, John overheard something that didn't sound quite right, and sure enough, when he checked with the ref, one of our goals had been given to the other team! He had recorded a 3-3 draw!! WELL! you should have seen the barrage he copped! It came in from every member of the team, recounting in blow by blow detail how each goal was scored by us and didn't he remember how we had 2 here and 2 there?? he should ask the other team, they knew we'd won! and we swear we're telling the truth! and why would we jump around so madly if we had only drawn? and please give us our victory back!...

In the end we persuaded him and the goal was rightfully put back where it belonged....In good ol' SRF domain!
The Winning Team! with their well deserved beers.

Unfortunately we missed Shari as she missed her plane, but she was there in spirit cheering us on.

Now the leader table doesn't look so bad! we're in 5th place out of 6 teams, AND 2 other teams have conceded more goals that we have! Who'd have thunk it?

Anyway, the Subs better watch out...the SRF are climbing the ladder!
