Word of the Day Returns!

"blog

n : a shared on-line journal where people can post diary entries about their personal experiences and hobbies [syn: web log]"

Hmmm... doesn't say anything about being soley for the purpose of posting random pictures in lame attempts at humour (extra points if we have all seen them before!). Apparently I am the only person who actually thought we were going to use this as a blog rather than just a new and interesting way for Matt, John and I to insult each other.

My mistake, sorry about that!

is this a dummy spit?

I was just under the wrong impression over the point of this exercise. I am not interested in getting shot down for posting about things going on in my life, so I will stick to posting random pictures and links along with everyone else.

Why don't we just stick to emails if that is what we are going to use this for?

Don't worry, Richard. I was interested in your teeth!

(Yes, I think it's a dummy spit)

Teeth? huh? what are you talking about?

Sorry Richie. Despite my ribbing, I actually found your posts to be the most interesting and funny. I intended the spirit of the blog to be just that and a good way to keep up with Jenny when she leaves. I haven't had the chance to post anything sensible yet but yours were a good example for me.

Can we have your teeth post back? Please?! I will not tease you any more.

The short story is, I copped shit for using this blog as an actual blog, so I have removed the offending posts. I doubt I will bother posting anything new, but for the record this isn't a dummy spit, it is a reaction to the dummy spit that others had yesterday.

If all people are going to do is post pictures and lame jokes, I don't see the point of creating a blog. We have been doing it by email successfully for years now...

If I have to, I will BEG for the 'Nerding Glory' post back! Please Richie!?!

Sorry, surprisingly easily and permanently deleted and never to return.

Thanks for the selective cut and paste from dictionary.com. We probably all have different ideas about what this Blog is for, but seriously Richard, if you can't take some comments don't post. Stop being so sensitive, and consider posting your own personal Blog.

BTW I don't think pictures of members of the Stephen Roberts foundation are any more random than the terrible secret of space.

Yes Matt, it was our group photo's which I was calling into question... Who is doing the selective editing now?

I have no problem with posting pictures of the SRF, I was more thinking of your "funny" animal pictures which you have already sent around, or John's random LAN pictures, or Bryan's cracker which has been doing the rounds for years now.

I have no problem if people post jokes etc, and I did the same myself, but I had THOUGHT that this was going to be a bit deeper than that. What am I supposed to do when I was the only person to post anything of substance, and immediately get attacked for my trouble?

And so I remove the posts you complained so bitterly about, and expressed my dissapointment that I had missunderstood the intention of the blog, and guess what? Here you are having yet another bitch at my expense. Or was calling it a dummy spit your idea of a mature approach to something that had obviously bothered me?

Since I can't win no matter what I do, why bother?

Get some backbone Richard. I had a go at you, what's new? I can't believe that this has bothered you so much. What are you going to do next? hold your breath until we all take you seriously? For gods sake if deleting all your posts isn't a dummy-spit I don't know what is.

As for the only one to post something of substance, the Blog has only been going three days, and because no one else has the time or self fascination to share their dental procedures with the group, yes, you were the only one.

I apologise if I offended you because we are good friends, but I really think you have taken this whole thing to heart when it was never meant to be. I am happy to refrain from posting any more "funny" photos or old cracker pictures, if you agree to repost and take comments in the spirit of fun.

wow! I may have to stay permnently blogged on as when I leave all the good stuff happens...I wanna see the teeth!

Maybe this episode will alert us all to the value of our fellow srf members....how about we have one rule in this space and that is respect..its a simple concept, but one, I see, we are slow to grasp. I'm not suggesting we stop all ribbing as I haven't laughed so hard since John offered to "open a world of pain" on Matt, but perhaps when we see a situation develop we try to diffuse rather than continue to push on.

That's my two cents and I'm Kent Brockman!

I could care less about the comments themselves, it was the underlying implication that I was doing something wrong by posting something serious.

You have always made it clear you don't want to hear about anything that might accidentally remind you how old we all are now, but i genuinly thought some of my other friends might be interested in something that is having a major impact on my life.

I can't restore the posts, and I wouldn't even if I could. I don't care if I get payed out etc in stupid pranks, and I was expecting to get a bunch of jokes at my expense for the blood bowl stuff, but I drew the line at getting attacked for posting something without a punchline. Deal with it.

I'm sorry, I just found your post about your dental work boring and a little too personal. Get your own blog for that.

Good to know that you're here to police what should and shouldn't be posted on this blog.

You should ask Sarah to give you deletion rights, cut out the middle man and at the same time save yourself the effort it takes to harrass people who break your rules on what is allowed.

grow up you girl
